The Zebra DS2278-HC is a wireless 2D scanner intended for all areas of healthcare and guarantees a high degree of freedom of movement thanks to its wireless design. With its PRZM technology, it captures 1D and 2D barcodes at any time, without errors and to user satisfaction – from patient bracelets and medication bottles to infusion bags and sample trays. Thanks to its IP52 certification against dust deposits and diagonally falling water drops, the DS2278-HC is well protected and withstands multiple impacts up to 1.5 meters. The deeply recessed scanning window is scratch-resistant and the housing easily withstands regular cleanings with common disinfectants. The powerful 2,400 mAh lithium-ion battery lasts up to 14 hours. It recharges in four hours via the presentation station – even in operation. USB, RS-232, Keyboard Wedge, RS-485 and Bluetooth 4.0 interfaces with BLE guarantee high operational availability. Another handy feature is automatic host recognition, which automatically selects the correct host interface. With Scan-to-Connect, the scanner connects to a Bluetooth-enabled PC, tablet or smartphone with one scan. The DS2278-HC allows you to quickly switch between presentation and handheld modes. For presentation mode, simply place the scanner in the presentation stand. Once recovered, it automatically switches to portable mode. Additionally, an innovative targeting line optically indicates the ideal distance between the scanner and the barcode during the scanning process. Successful scans are indicated by an acoustic tone and LED light. For noise-sensitive areas, the scanner has a “Do not disturb” mode. In this mode, light is projected onto the barcode to be captured, making it easy for the user to recognize a successful scan without any noise.
