The Zebra RFD40 UHF RFID reader is ideal for rapid RFID capture, making work in the retail, hospitality and healthcare industries both faster and more efficient. Using tri-function triggers, the RFD40 performs incredibly fast inventories and locates objects and patients in the shortest possible time using the highly accurate object search mode. With the RFD40's quick trigger feature, workers capture more than 1,300 RFIDs and barcodes per second at a reading range of more than 20 feet. The reader has an additional programmable button for input or push-to-talk functions and is equipped with a powerful 7,000 mAh battery. It supports various Zebra mobile computers, including WWAN-enabled variants, making it the ideal complement to TC21/TC26, EC50/EC55, Windows computers and many other devices. Zebra mobile computers not yet released will also be compatible with the RFD40. eConnex technology allows for quick connection of the RFD40 with mobile computers and instant pairing. The UHF RFID reader is also very robust; Zebra designed the RFD40 to be very durable. It withstands drops of up to 1.8m and survived 1,000 drops from 0.5m in the tumble test. The RFD40 is IP54 certified and operates reliably in a temperature range of -10°C to 50°C. Using two charging pins located in the RFD40 charging cradle, the reader can be charged alone or with the mobile computer it is mounted on. The mobile computer can also be charged without the reader in the charging cradle. Charging docks are available for any combination of RFD40 reader and mobile computer, including the TC21/TC26 and EC50/EC55. A USB-C port on the bottom and a pen connector connect the RFD40 reader to a Windows PC or other host, allowing the RFD40 to be used as a connected RFID reader. The Premium and Premium Plus models also offer Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6. The RFD40 is also a future-proof investment, as it meets all future-proof RFID and data acquisition requirements. To configure the RFD40 reader live and offline, connect it to the “123RFID Desktop” via a USB-C cable or cable cup – this can also be used to perform proofs of concept, demonstrations and firmware upgrades. If real-time connection to back-end systems is not available, the reader's batch mode allows capture of up to 40,000 RFIDs. The RFD40 then only needs to be synchronized to download the data to the host device at any time. Various charging stands, as well as adapters, cases and an RFD40 battery lock foot, are available for the UHF RFID reader. It locks the battery, preventing damage and theft by the user.
